Developing People
Through
Agricultural
Experience

At Toko Corporation, together with Goto
Kaisoten, we engage in the experience of
growing rice — Japan's staple
food. By giving
our employees direct contact with the realities
of food and agriculture, we cultivate insights
and
learning that are difficult to gain in
everyday life, fostering personal and
professional growth.

What Rice Farming Reveals

Since 2024, we have been growing rice using paddies in the Kansai region. With the cooperation of local communities, our team participates in processes such as planting and harvesting, experiencing the agricultural world that most people rarely encounter in daily life. Engaging with the time and effort required to grow rice provides an opportunity to understand — not just intellectually, but physically — the hard work and ingenuity behind every bowl of rice we take for granted.

Turning Insights into Growth

These experiences not only nurture an interest in food and a sense of gratitude, but also bring perspectives and sensibilities that differ from everyday work. Eating what you've grown with your own hands provides a tangible sense of accomplishment that can't be gained in daily routines, gently broadening your outlook. At Toko Corporation and Goto Kaisoten, we are committed to continuing these initiatives — not as one-time events, but as lasting contributions to our employees' growth and organizational bonds.
