Railroad car: One car

When taking the car off the rails (for loading) in Kishiwada City, Osaka Prefecture, we used two cranes to load the cargo onto a trailer. We then used the hours when there is less traffic late at night and transported the carriage to Senboku Port in Izumiotsu City, Osaka Prefecture. From Senboku Port, we loaded the cargo onto a RORO vessel and transported it by sea to Chiba Port in Chiba City, Chiba Prefecture. From Chiba Port, we used the late-night hours to transport it to the delivery destination in Tsukubamirai City, Ibaraki Prefecture, and then used one large crane for the work to put it back on the rails.

Points of caution

Railroad cars are super-long and super-heavy items, so when transporting them over land, it is necessary to have vehicles travelling in front and behind and to be careful that the transportation does not interfere with general vehicle traffic. In addition, when performing the crane operations at the loading and unloading locations, it is necessary to perform delicate operations with the utmost care, to consider the balance of the car while aligning the wheels with the track positions.
