The 1960s were a time of dramatic economic development. It was also a time when a lot of demands were starting to be placed on domestic cargo transportation. To respond to those needs, the land transportation division of Goto Kaisoten Ltd. was spun off as an independent company in 1967 and began motor truck transportation business specifically to transport import/export cargo and domestic cargo over land by truck. The rapid development of the economy and changes in the distribution system continued after that time and the company became one of the first to enter the international marine container transport sector. As the land transport division of the Maruma Group, Maruma Rikuso currently serves not only general customers, but is also able to meet all customer needs with an integrated transport system.
